Wascally Wabbit Sentenced

Jerry Sandusky, former Penn State football defensive coach and serial child rapist, was sentenced today to between thirty and sixty years in prison.

He didn't have anything to say at the sentencing but he has said plenty none of which makes any sense.

Sandusky believes he is the victim.  In his own bizarre words:

My wife has been my only sex partner that was after marriage. Our love continues. A young man who was dramatic a veteran accuser, and always sought attention, started everything. He was joined by a well-orchestrated effort of the media, investigators, the system, Penn State, psychologists, civil attorneys and other accusers. They won. I've wondered what they really won: Attention, financial gain, prestige… will all be temporary. Before you blame me, as others have, look at everything and everybody. Look at the preparation for the trial and the trial. Compare it to others. Think about what happened. Why, and who made it happen? Evaluate the accusers and their families. Realize they didn't come out of isolation. The accusers were products of many more people and experiences than me. Look at their confidants and their honesty. Think about how easy it was for them to turn on me given the information, attention and potential perks. I never labeled or put down them or their families.

Hopefully Jerry will become someone's bitch in the big house.

I Got a Monk on My Back

No, this isn't some new cast member on Game of Thrones.  This guy is a for real monk named Father Benedict Groeschel.

Among other things, he's a television host and director of the Office for Spiritual Development for the Catholic Archdiocese of New York.  This week he gave an interview to the National Catholic Register.

It's gone now because it was a wee bit controversial.  Seems that Friar Tuck here made a claim that "in a lot of cases" of abuse, "the youngster... is the seducer."

From what a person could make out from his insane ramblings he is also sympathetic towards Jerry Sandusky, referring to him as a 'poor guy.'

Listen, Catholic hierarchy, it's well known that you've been protecting pedophiles for millennia, but now that everybody knows you need to rein in nut jobs like this Santa look alike.

Although the 79-year-old has issued an apology (sort of), we are not accepting it and think he ought to be locked up with Jerry.

For Once, Crime Does Not Pay

These are Penn State college students expressing dismay, tears, sadness and idiocy as they heard what the NCAA is going to do to their football program.

We can excuse them for being stupid because they are young but eventually they're going to have to grow up.

They don't understand that they are in college to get an education that will enable them to get jobs and support themselves and their families when they graduate.  They believe Penn State is all about football.

Kids, if you don't understand that your God the Father, Joe Paterno, was a bad man for not saying or doing anything to stop Jerry Sandusky's years of raping children and deserves to suffer the repercussions, even post mortem, then maybe you shouldn't even have the chance to get a college diploma.

Bravo to the NCAA; however, sports shouldn't be the most important thing that a college has to offer.  It has to come after the "book learnin'" part.

Thou Shalt Not Rape Little Children

That's convicted child rapist Jerry Sandusky 'guiding' a young football player.  As you may have heard, the former Penn State football defense coordinator was convicted Friday night on 45 of the 48 counts he was accused of committing during the years he busied himself abusing young boys.

Although he won't be sentenced for another three months, it's safe to say he won't be getting out of prison in his lifetime.  He faces a  maximum of 460+ years and it is most unfortunate he won't live that long.

Also Friday, Monsignor William Lynn of Philadelphia was convicted of one count of conspiracy and a second count of child endangerment due to the fact that he helped shuttle pedophile priests from the scenes of their crimes to unsuspecting parishes.

Well that's two for the good guys.  What's it all mean?

No doubt child rape has been going on since the beginning of humankind, or inhumankind, but now, in the twenty-first century we are finally saying that it's not all right.  No more blind eyes will be turned.  Those who commit these crimes will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  Those who protect the rapists will also be brought to justice.

And as we have seen in the case of Jerry Sandusky, treating a sport like a religion is a dangerous thing.  There was some mistaken idea that football at Penn State was akin to religion and those who work at it above the law.  Priests and coaches are just as accountable as anybody else.

The Court of Public Opinion

For some unknown reason, having a televised interview via telephone with Bob Costas with his attorney sitting next to Costas was not enough for Jerry Sandusky.

Apparently in order to convince everyone of his guilt in the child abuse allegations, he consented to another interview with the New York Times. His attorney wasn't just present for that one. It was actually conducted at his home.

If Sandusky is a moron (which by all indications he is) then his attorney is even worse. Dude should be disbarred.

By his own admission, Sandusky does not understand the word 'boundary.' He admits that he 'wrestled' and 'hugged' these boys and thinks they really wanted him to do that. No, Jerry, nor did they want you to insert your penis into any part of their bodies.

So when do we get to string him up by his ball sac?

Pedophiles Say the Darndest Things

Somebody (and we can only assume it was an asshole) advised Jerry Sandusky that it was time for him to do an interview about the allegations against him regarding his raping of young boys.

Really bad idea. Sometimes it's just best to keep your mouth shut.

In an interview with Bob Costas, Sandusky mused that he "shouldn't have showered with those kids." That was as far as he would go in admitting he had done anything wrong.

Seriously, Jerry? Does that mean cleanliness is not next to godliness?

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Let's see if we have this straight.

Mike McQueary, pictured above next to Coach Joe Paterno, is sitting out tomorrow's Penn State game as assistant coach, because he's being threatened for reporting that he saw defensive coach Jerry Sandusky boinking a little boy in the team locker room in 1999.

Evidently McQueary reported this to Joe Paterno (who has now been fired after a 40 year career) but not to the police, but those who want to kill him are not upset about that. They only care that he has fucked up Paterno's longevity at the helm of the Nittany Lions.

Oh really, Penn State fans? What the hell is wrong with you people?

Have you no concept that pedophiles and the people who protect them are criminals and should be treated as such? Or are your stupid football games more important than protecting the young?

Never mind. Don't answer that.

"Hey! Have you ever seen a naked man?"

"We like boys!"

To be fair, you don't have to be a cleric to be a pedophile. You can also be a football coach.

Take Jerry Sandusky late of Penn State. Please. Right to prison where the inmates can have their way with him.

Over a period of fifteen years he is alleged to have molested eight boys -- that we know of.

During a naked shower in 2002, he was seen by a graduate assistant named Mike McQueary molesting a ten year old boy in the team locker room.

McQueary (great name, by the way) and his father reported the incident to Tim Curley, Penn State's athletic director, and later met with Gary Schultz, vice president for finance and business. Despite the eyewitness report, they did nothing to report the incident to Pennsylvania authorities as required by law.

College football god, Joe Paterno, is not believed to have known about the incidents.

Sandusky retired in 1999 to concentrate on his foundation to help at-risk kids, The Second Mile, which one should assume was really organized to give him better opportunities to assault more young boys.
