The Blind Shooting the Blind, er, Make that Everyone
Are you blind? If so, is someone reading this to you? Good. We'd like to be the first to tell you that if you live in Iowa your lack of sight is not going to prevent you from buying a gun.
In fact, there is a sheriff in Iowa who believes that blind people can be taught to shoot guns. Well that may be, but can they be taught to actually hit a target or does that mean they can just squeeze off a few rounds and hit people at random?
That same sheriff, or any other, can deny a gun permit to someone visually impaired if the aforementioned sheriff can prove that the legally blind potential gun owner is likely to harm others or his or herself.
Okay, silly question.
Doesn't gun ownership sort of imply that you very well might shoot someone? Or have we gotten to the point where proponents of the Second Amendment just want everyone to have a gun because they can or should own a firearm?
