There seems to be just too much going on in the world. Very serious stuff it is as well. Bombings, shootings, lethargy in the United States Congress ... time to focus on some very important stuff. Like weddings. And Earth Day.
Ah! We remember the first Earth Day in 1970 although we were probably stoned and don't actually remember what the hell it was we actually did.
Now, forty-three years later the world is a very different place in some ways.
Not to fret, people are still getting married, even straight people.
Take the couple pictured. Please. To the nearest recycling plant.
This lovely bride's dress cost only AUD$36 and that's because it is made out of recycled bread bag clips. Ten thousand of them to be precise.
Stephanie Watson started saving these bread clips over a decade ago but she and her sweetie decided to get hitched even before she had enough with which to construct a gown. The groom's cousin, who is a baker, made a huge donation of clips so that the job could be completed. Hallelujah!
Mrs. Wapling details it all for you on her blog, Constructing Nadine, which is the name of her wedding dress.
Perhaps the world would be a better place if these plastic tags weren't used to hold bread bags closed, but then Stephanie wouldn't have had anything to wear to her wedding.
