No, you can't make this stuff up.
This is a picture of the late Choy (a/k/a CC) Barrington. She was 21 and lived in Brooklyn, New York.
She was also pregnant and a smoker. This morning at about 2:45 she started a fire while smoking in bed.
Oh, but the brilliance doesn't stop there.
Instead of calling 911, CC called her roommates. Now I'm a little hazy on this. Did she share an apartment with a man and his wife or were they her next door neighbors? In any event, nobody called 911 while the place was burning.
CC was a cosmetology student and geriatric nurse according to the NY Daily News, which is an interesting combination to say the least.
This wasn't the first time CC had fallen asleep while smoking. She'd fallen asleep with a butt dangling from her lips just two weeks ago and one of her roommates was able to remove it before the place burned down.
Back in the day we used to call this 'nodding off.'
What have we learned, boys and girls?
1) You shouldn't smoke.
2) You shouldn't smoke in bed.
3) You shouldn't smoke when you're pregnant.
4) You shouldn't smoke when you're sleeping.
5) All of the above.
