We watched the Miss USA 2010 pageant last night because we were forced to at gunpoint.
But we are so glad we did because we can report that the first Arab-American was crowned Miss USA!
Her name is Rima Fakih, she's from Michigan and she buys American (as in cars). She also thinks that birth control pills should be paid for by insurance! And she thanked Mr. Trump for hiring her! (For what, we don't know.)
The most ethnic looking of the fifty-one contestants and one of the few brunettes, you just sort of knew she was going to win because the other four runners up were incredibly blonde. And she tripped over the train of her evening dress! So endearing!
Rima's selection proves that all Arab women do not wear burqas nor do they have explosives strapped to their long legs under their evening gowns.
Incidentally, none of the contestants made complete idiots of themselves when asked pertinent questions. A little disappointing to be sure. And we were sorry Judge Paula Dean didn't ask if they drank bacon fat for breakfast and asked a question about the oil spill instead.
