Crusty Bits

Do you know what a crouton is? For the uninitiated, a crouton is a piece of stale bread used to garnish salads, soups and the like.
I recently purchased a package of said croutons and as I hoped, it was filled with bits of stale bread.
What I hadn't anticipated was the foresightedness of the manufacturers of the packaging for these croutons.
Sure enough, up in the upper right hand corner of the bag, I was advised the package was "Resealable for Freshness."
Okay, well you really don't want your croutons to be fresh, do you? You want them to be stale. Now, if you mean that the bag is resealable to keep out vermin, that's quite another story. But freshness? I think not.
