Easy Rider to the Will

Okay, this I don't get, but then again, I don't understand a lot of what those Hollywood folk do.

Reportedly Dennis Hopper has filed a petition for divorce from his fifth wife, Victoria, from his death bed.

Hopper is 73 and Victoria is 42. They got married in 1996 and have a six-year-old daughter.

The actor was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and recent reports indicate his condition is worsening.

But why divorce her now?

If he doesn't want to leave her anything, couldn't his will be modified? Or does a spouse still inherit in the state where they have residence?

Anyway, I just don't get it. Unless he wants to be single when he gets to the afterlife.
