Very Politically Incorrect

Emancipation Proclamation
Remember that?
A teacher in a White Plains, NY middle school is in a heap o'trouble.
In order to 'enliven' a lesson on slavery she picked out two black girls in her class and bound their hands and feet.
The teacher, Eileen Bernstein who is (curiously enough) white, doesn't understand that she did anything wrong. She was just concerned when told that one of the girls was upset about the incident.
The demonstration took place on November 18th and as of yesterday the teacher was still at work.
This is just one incident of some of the extremely inappropriate things teachers do in the classroom. Most of them never get caught or called on their behavior. I could write a book on all the occurrences that I know of, but of course there is always the union to leap to their defense.

Her defense: But I freed them in the end.

I always read these things and say to myself, "I hope this idiot isn't a Jew." So damn if the woman doesn't have a Jewish last name...

Hmmm. Why were you wondering if the teacher was Jewish?

Moons, I am Jewish, so I get touchy about things those "of the tribe" do. I am personally offended by Lieberman because he is a turncoat, but also because he is Jewish and I expect better, because I am also a Jew. I don't normally read to see if they ARE Jewish, but her name is a common Jewish surname.

We are sort of like a small town in some regards...we like to be proud of the accomplishments of our community. When someone does something evil or nasty in our town, we get upset. (If you have heard the Adam Sandler "Hanukkah" songs, where he names Jews, that should give you an idea of what I am talking about.)

Hope that makes sense?

That was what I thought. ;) Your explanation makes a lot of sense and I totally understand. Thanks for elaborating.
