Bright Lights, Big City

10,000 bees in the Bronx

Bee keepers all over the country have been talking about their vanishing bees. Scientists and farmers have all been bemoaning the empty hives. Nobody knew where the bees were going. It will be the end of humanity! No bees to pollinate our crops!

Well, open your eyes, people. Your bees have left the farmland for the big city.

A swarm of bees attached themselves to a building in the Bronx, New York. Yup, that's right. Looking for a new start in the big city.

Recently two other swarms have been spotted in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn.

They moved to a low income area and will be applying for welfare as they start a new life. Some may be working at the New York Botanical Gardens, others will traverse farther south to Central Park.

"I'm not going back to Kansas," said one renegade drone. "You can bet on that."

I thought saw the face of the Virgin Mother in those bees!
