Seems as if it's time for a Boy Scouts rant.Pictured is Michael Benjamin Sclawy-Adelman whose one goal in life was to become an Eagle Scout. Two years ago he died while on a BSA hike in the Florida Everglades and his parents are suing the Boy Scouts of America and the two scout leaders among others.
Michael, 17, died from heat stroke which is perfectly understandable since it was 100 degrees.
This happens more times than it should, which by my calculations is never.
Parents, please listen up.
Your son may get out of the Boy Scouts alive, but why take the chance? There's no freaking reason why a kid should have to schlep through the Everglades in the summer to get a badge. Instead, buy him a badge or an eagle.
Also, can you really trust grown men who wear shorts? Didn't we learn our lesson during World War II?
This blog has been filled with entries pertaining to stupid things grown-ups do with and to children, and often it's in sanctioned activities.
There are three million Boy Scouts and that would be three million too many.
