Bones as Strong as Irony

What's not to love about irony?
Fosamax, a drug concocted to control bone density, might actually be responsible for bone fractures of the thigh. Not good news for postmenopausal women for whom the drug is commonly prescribed.
Bisphosphonates are supposed to slow bone loss that leads to osteoporosis, but that cell slow down can actually weaken bones in some cases.
Probably won't be long before we hear about the problem with Boniva, the same type of drug Sally Field hawks.
Five million prescriptions were written for these drugs last year. That's a whole lotta moolah. Once again, American women being used as guinea pigs.
