Double Dutch

I heard a priest in the Netherlands was suspended and naturally I assumed it was because he got caught doing naughty things with children, but no. He dedicated a Mass to the success of the Dutch soccer team. He wore an orange cloak and the attendees wore orange clothes. The church was decorated with orange flags and the faithful sang soccer songs.

The bishop has imposed a period of reflection on the Reverend Paul Vlaar for his failure to "...do justice to the holiness of the celebration of the Eucharist."
If the Dutch had won the World Cup, would that have made it all right?
While we're on the subject, can we talk about the aforementioned 'celebration of the Eucharist?' Catholics believe that bread and wine are actually turned into Christ's body and blood and the faithful are invited to feast on it.
I'm sorry but isn't that cannibalism? Seriously, if you believe that the elements of food and drink become flesh and blood, and you invite others to partake, aren't you promoting cannibalism? To back track and say it's just symbolism would be to deny the basic Catholic tenet of transubstantiation.
I'm just curious. Maybe I've been too influenced by the current popularity of the vampire subculture.
