It's My Party and I'll Cry if I Want To

The woman in the pink jacket with the unfortunate name of DeDe Scozzafava is a GOP candidate for the House running for a seat representing the 23rd Congressional District of upstate New York.

It sucks to be DeDe these days because her very own party is out to defeat her. Wonderful folks like Sarah Palin and Dick Armey are after her hide because she's not conservative enough.

That's right. They don't care if they throw the election to the Democratic candidate. What matters is that they send a message! They're supporting the candidate on the Conservative ticket, Douglas L. Hoffman, who is an accountant in the Adirondacks.

DeDe supports abortion rights and same sex marriage so she might as well be a Democrat, right?

One of the local supporters of the more conservative Mr. Hoffman said, "They say this is about the soul of the party.”

Really.
