Excuse Me, but You're Standing on My Tongue

Who among us hasn't made a slip of the tongue? Okay, Jesus, put your hand down. Seriously. We probably all have, but we weren't standing in front of Congress when we did it.

I present the story of Representative Virginia Foxx (R) of North Carolina who emphatically (by using her pen for that extra oomph) said the following:

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you.
I don't even know what she was referring to but that's irrelevant. Isn't her statement what we've all wanted to say at one time or another? No matter how much I should have wised up to your shenanigans I didn't and it's all your fault.

If C-Span wasn't a video sleeping pill I could see these things myself as they happen, but unfortunately I'll just have to learn about them after the fact.
