It's Always Tough Getting Back to Work

We were drawing to the end of a hugely embarrassing time in the history of the United States of America when a particularly troublesome group of politicians, all from the craziest wing of the Republican Party, had successfully shut down the government for sixteen days.

The House of Representatives gathered to vote on reopening the government and despite the 126 nay votes it looked as if business was going to resume.

The vote was finished, the yeas had it, and a House Stenographer named Dianne Reidy decided that was as good a time as any to go completely batshit crazy.

She started yelling into the microphone.  Here is a pretty close transcription of what she said although we feel sure if she had written it herself it would have been completely accurate.

“He [God] will not be mocked! The greatest deception here is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. It would not have been. The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons. They go against God. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God. Praise be to Jesus.”

She was dragged away by security.
