A teen aged boy in Schenectady, New York was suspended from school for wearing rosary beads around his neck.The concern is that wearing beads can be gang-related, but Raymond Hosier refuses to take them off despite his two day suspension and despite the fact that if he wears them again on Monday he'll get suspended for another two days.
Is this just a smart way to get out of school now that the weather's nice?
Raymond, listen to me. You're not supposed to wear rosary beads around your neck. This is a big Catholic no-no. What are you, Muslim? You should know this. It's nice that they comfort you because you lost your brother and uncle, but find something else to soothe you.
