Unfortunately the Long Island, NY couple are crooks. So to make them pay for their crimes, $1 million of their winnings are going to be held in escrow. Well, their sorry asses should be held in the hoosegow.
And get this ... they're all pissy about it. They'll still end up with $60 million after taxes.
The greedy bastards ripped off taxpayers for over $600,000 running their homeless shelter scam, giving themselves bonuses, buying big-screen TVs with public money, paying rent to themselves while simultaneously charging the county, and billing taxpayers for employee retirement benefits but pocketing the money. With penalties and interest, the amount they owe is over $900,000.
