Ignorance Disguised as News

There shouldn't be any doubt in anyone's mind at this point that twenty-four hour a day 'news' stations are an horrifically bad idea.

Let's face it: there's just not that much superficially bad news in the world to fill up cable news networks' schedules seven days a week.

Whether you're on the left, right or in between, the cable news stations are a bad idea. They've spawned people like Bill O'Reilly, Lou Dobbs, Nancy Grace, Sean Hannity, Gretchen Carlson. Need I go on?

It wouldn't be too bad if people had the sense not to watch them, but apparently the American cable-watching public knows no restraint. They can't get enough of 'non-news,' the more absurd the better.

Apparently Bill O'Reilly took a leak with Spike Lee recently and commented on it during his broadcast. What? I don't even know what he said; I don't want to know. I'm sure it's worse than anything I could possibly imagine.

If I were God, I would pull the plug. That's all I'm saying.
