No doubt about it, Caster Semenya is one ugly chick albeit a fast one. And Caster might not even be a chick at all! Here we go again.
Caster, racing for South Africa, won the 800 meter race for the women's world championship, but obviously if she's a dude all bets are off.
Unfortunately it may take weeks to prove her gender. As a citizen of the world, I find that extremely depressing.
The testing begins with a visual evaluation by a physician, but also includes chromosome testing, gynecological investigation, X-rays, scans, and other tests. But sorting males from females can be more complicated than most people realize, said a Northwestern University bioethics professor, so in the end athletics officials may have to make a judgment call on what counts as male and female.
