Someone is actually suing Adam Sandler (pictured above in You Don't Mess with the Zohan) for copyright infringement.
From OneIndia via Videogum: Writer Robert Cabell turned to the Manhattan Federal court and filed legal papers against Sandler and chiefs at Happy Madison Productions, Sony and Columbia Pictures in New York.
Cabell alleged that Sandler's character Zohan, an Israeli hero who fakes his own death in order to pursue his dream of becoming a hairstylist in New York City, was lifted from his Hair-Raising Adventures of Jayms Blonde.
Allegedly the Zohan flick made $100 million. That's absurd and obscene. You would think Mr. Cabell would be embarrassed to say he came up with the same lame idea.
When was the last time Adam Sandler made a worthwhile movie? A funny movie? Come on, the clock is ticking.
Spanglish? Yeah, that was great. Arguably one of the worst films ever made. Click? Yeah, fabulous. Seriously. His movies are so terrible that if I start to watch them I can't finish.
His next film waiting for release is called Funny People. How much do you want to bet that it won't be the slightest bit funny?
