You'll be happy to know that Brown-Forman is doing great in these troubled economic times. Yes, people drown their troubles in alcohol, like B-F's Jack Daniels and Finlandia Vodka when things are hard.

Commenting on the first half of 2008, Paul Varga, chief executive officer said, “We are pleased with our results, particularly in the second quarter where we saw improvement during a challenging economic environment. We believe our first half performance is a testimony to the stability of our company, the strength and resiliency of our brands and people, and the quality of our cash flows and balance sheet.”

Does this guy not have clue why and when people drink to excess? If not, why is he the CEO of the company?
