Out of Camelot into the Senate?

Why would anyone think it was a good idea for Caroline Kennedy to be appointed Senator from New York State?

The woman has no experience in public life unless you count her living in the White House when she was 3.

Sure she's an attorney and she's probably done a lot of good deeds in her lifetime, but to just opt for a senate seat without really running for office, well Mrs. Schlossberg, that just smacks of some sort of entitlement that I thought we didn't subscribe to in the US of A.

The US Senate isn't the municipality of Wasilla, Alaska. Supposedly it's a significant legislative body. For anyone just to say they'd like to be 'considered' for a seat in it without any kind of experience to back it up is just ludicrous in my opinion.

The name "Kennedy" shouldn't be a consideration when examining the candidates for the senate seat any more than should the name "Borgia."
