Satan's bookendsVice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales were set to be arraigned in a Texas court on charges that they (along with others) are involved in prisoner abuse at detention centers in a southwest Texas county.
There are lots of problems with this indictment not the least of which is that the District Attorney seems to have 'disappeared.' Not sure if he's 'disappeared' in the El Salvadorian meaning of the word, but stranger things have happened.
DA Guerra lost March's primary, but he has been in office for 20 years.
According to HuffPo:
After Guerra's office was raided as part of {the} investigation early last year, he camped outside the courthouse in a borrowed camper with a horse, three goats and a rooster. He threatened to dismiss hundreds of cases because he believed local law enforcement had aided the investigation against him.
Apparently the DA has been acting as witness, prosecutor and victim in some cases, but I like the part about the horse, goats and rooster.
In all likelihood Cheney and Gonzales will never see the inside of a south Texas courtroom, but I sure do like the idea of them in orange jumpsuits.
