The other night on Hardball Chris Matthews was criticizing Sarah Palin's wave.
I hate to be disagreeable, but I think Ms. Palin's wave is the one thing she's got going for her.
She waves equally well with either hand. She is able to wave from side to side and also from front to back. She expertly bends her fingers downward thus making the wave an intimate gesture.
I think the best way to describe her waving style is to say it is 'brisk.' Not frenetic, but brisk. Exuberant, not hysterical.
Totally think she's a great waver. Probably nailed it on the beauty pageant circuit.
If she could confine her public appearances to waving and not speaking, that'd be great. Mmmm kay.

My only problem is if it becomes the wave of the future. At that point it's beyond wave- more like a hand job.
