Last week the author of "The Horse Whisperer" died after eating a poisonous mushroom he found while walking in the woods of Britain.
Apparently old Nick did this quite often, munching on toadstools and such that he happened upon while enjoying the great outdoors. Three others, including his wife, were hospitalized because they also partook of the "Fool's Webcap." Yes indeedy, that's the name of the mushroom. Indicating to my satisfaction that one has to be a bloody fool to eat it.
Mr. Evans did not understand that he would have been better off eating an old McDonald's Big Mac wrapper found blowing down the street. Had he accepted the fact that nature not only can but wants to kill you, he might be alive today to write yet another extraordinarily boring book.

Some people play russian roulette. Some people take nature walks. I don't understand either.
