Who among us hasn't joked when seeing a speeding police cruiser, "I bet they're going to get some donuts!"?
Unfortunately, in North Brunswick, NJ it was true. Well, sort of.
Lt. Keith Buckley was driving a rented Dodge Viper last month with Lt. Christopher Zerby as his passenger when the vehicle went out of control and crashed. Estimates are Lt. Buckley was traveling at least 94 mph in a 45 mph zone. Lt. Zerby who was killed in the accident, ironically headed the department's Traffic Safety Unit. Guess not any more.
I have no idea why Buckley was driving this V-10 car on his lunch break, but by the looks of him he could have waited a few minutes to eat.Lt. Keith "Don't get between me and my sandwich" Buckley
Well, now the hungry cop has been charged with vehicular homicide in the accident. He has been suspended with pay. That'd be about $132K a year. I guess we can all be happy he will still have enough money to buy lunch.

Why do I feel sorry for this poor jerk? Must be these bleeding heart genes.
I wonder how he would treat me if he caught me doing 95 in a 45 zone. Probably wouldn't share his donuts with me.
Still I feel sorry for him.
