Hot Rod

Ted "Don't Piss Me Off, Dad" Pressman
Forty-eight year old Ted Pressman was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment after his 85-year-old father was found dead in his car in Peekskill, NY.
Apparently Ted took his parents to work with him. Unfortuntately he left them in the car with the windows rolled up for three hours. Estimates are the temperature in the car topped 110 degrees.
His 75-year-old mother was able to figure out how to get out of the car, went into a local luncheonette and cooled off. Evidently she forgot she had a husband because he stayed in the car and cooked.
Now apparently Ted isn't too bright, but I think we can blame his gene pool for that.
In his defense, he obviously lacked the wherewithal to care for his aging parents who seem to have suffered with severe dementia.
In lieu of Senior Day Care, he would park them (sans car) in McDonald's and other fine dining establishments while he worked.
Apparently his keeping them in the car was a new twist, and appropriately, his last.

I've heard that in the original version of "Summer In the City" by The Loving Spoonful there was a line about taking your old parents to work with you and leaving them in the car all day as it approached 110 degrees.

"Hot town, summer in the city,
back of my neck gettin' dirt and gritty,
so hot don't feel too witty ,
takin' care of my demented parents makes me feel shitty"
