Nobody ever said America was fair.
Two contestants on American Idol this season were actually born in foreign countries.
Michael Johns, on the left, was born in Australia.
Carly Smithson, on the right, was born in Ireland.
They may be naturalized citizens, but they will forever be called the Aussie guy and the Irish chick.
Michael Johns did not receive enough votes this past week to stay on the show, and my prediction is that Carly Smithson will soon be leaving as well.
I strongly believe there are folks in America who, either rightly or wrongly, will not vote for them because they are "foreigners."
If I am right, I will be hanging out my shingle and gazing into a crystal ball.
