Out of the Cellar

The New York Yankees have a five game winning streak; their best since last September. If they defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates today they will have swept the three game series with the National League team.

It's been an abysmal season so far for the Bronx Bombers as they have been imploding. Alex Rodriguez was the only player hitting in April, but now it is June and Abreu seems to have come out of his slump.

They have a promising young pitcher in Tyler Clippard and Roger Clemens is back in the fold for $1 million every start.

Will the Yanks be able to challenge the BoSox for the #1 position in the division? Or will they settle for a wild card position in the post season?

Stay tuned.
