Don't look now but a lot of those actors playing Americans on movie and television screens are actually British and Australian.
Kate Winslet, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, Rachel Griffiths ... just to name a few.
Aren't there any American actors capable of playing Americans?
Sure Gwyneth Paltrow won a Best Actress Oscar for playing Lady Violet in Shakespeare in Love, but doesn't it seem the acting bag is a tad heavy in reverse?
Hugh Laurie playing House, M.D. weekly?
Are there any American actors playing British docs on the telly?
Perhaps it has something to do with we Americans being Anglophiles at heart, and maybe the Revolution was a bit hasty.
Or maybe it has something to do with Americans being bad actors?
