The Hazards of Duke

Do we really hate white men so much that we were willing to believe the rape allegations against the Duke LaCrosse players?

I actually like white men. Maybe they shouldn't be running the country, but that's another story. I was married to a white man and I have given birth to one.

So I may have been inclined to believe the white men's cries of innocence when the charges were levied against them earlier this year.

At this point I think even the most hardened must agree that all charges against these guys should be dropped.

First I heard that the stripper was pregnant, having conceived around the time of the alleged rape. Unfortunately for her tale the child was not the offspring of any of the men she accused of rape.

Now I hear that there was semen in her underwear FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT MEN, and not the men she accused of raping her.

Even if we were to believe she was a fine upstanding member of the community in the first place, this new evidence certainly calls into question her allegations against the white boys.

I hear that the Wilmington NC community is still behind her and apparently they still believe her story of the rape by the Duke players.

Do they hate the privileged white kids going to Duke so much that they are backing a story that grows more ludicrous every day? Or do they genuinely believe she is telling the truth despite evidence to the contrary?
