Snow Bored

The XX Winter Olympics are nearly over.

Thank God.

As stated previously, the world does not need any more chauvinism.

However, if I'm going to play along I'll want the USA to win a lot of medals (mostly gold).

But the USA Olympic team hasn't been winning a lot of medals.

We have a couple of gold in snow boarding, a sport populated with bizarre characters who speak in a strange dialect.

Then we have the first African-American speed skater who won a couple of medals but wouldn't skate with the team, and now the team has ostracized him for that. (Yeah, sure. We know it's really cause he's black.)

Then there's that Bode guy who apparently has to drink a quart of Jack Daniels before he can ski decently or else those slalom flags go up his ass.

Luckily when NBC shows the day's results they warn you to "look away" if you don't want to know what happened. I happily read the details so that I don't have to watch that evening's replay of events. That way I save myself countless hours and much frustration.

I'm trying to come up with a sentence that uses the phrase "does not Bode well". Unfortuantely I am as motivated has the dope who inspired such a line of thinking and wind up short of my pursuit.

aah, fuck it.
