Sending the Old Man Packing

There was a segment on the news this morning about an 87 year old man who had passed away in his toney Manhattan apartment. His 67 year old wife and her mother did not know what to do with his body, so they stuffed his corpse in a suitcase.

Well needless to say the old guy started to stink up the place and eventually his remains were discovered.

Apparently the deceased wanted to be buried in Arizona, although it is not clear if his widow was going to bring him there as carry-on luggage.

Okay, let's say for a minute that the widow and her mother didn't have a brain between them and couldn't figure out a call to 911 might have solved their problem. But to stuff him in a suitcase? That I just don't comprehend unless they were going to take him on a trip.

I have not checked, but perhaps now that we can bring screwdrivers and scissors on airplanes, we can also stuff our beloveds into the overheads.

I think I understand what happened.
After the wife completed the packing, her mother asked her, how things were going. The daughter answered, case closed. No need to do anymore. Case closed.

Too much Judge Judy. Too much Law and Order. Too much TV, period. I just get this weird feeling it all started with watching an Alfred Hitchcok episode. Case closed.
