I am so relieved that the next time I get on a plane I will be able to once again bring my screwdriver and 4 inch scissors. You never know when you might want to give the person sitting in front of you a haircut, and just for fun, I've been known to sit in the restroom and start unscrewing all the visible screws.
Okay, okay. Seriously, do people need to bring those items, or any of the previously banned items, on a plane?
Remember, aviation people, there aren't just terrorists trying to get on our planes to blow them up. There is no shortage of lunatics trying to fly who would like nothing better than to plunge those scissors into someone's neck or stick the screwdriver in a flight attendant's ear. Why do we think it's suddenly okay to let people carry those items on board? The danger isn't just that the maniac might get into the cockpit. The danger is they might go berserk and hurt the passengers and flight attendants.
Duh.

While I'm a huge fan of assembling items on airplanes with screwdrivers, I sort of agree. On the other hand, I'd love if they let me bring my knitting needles back on. I think they're trying to lighten up on people who don't check their baggage and just carry it on.
