The Vatican has been named in an International Court Complaint in The Hague filed by human rights attorneys and victims of clerical sexual abuse.Rock on with your bad selves.
The complaint urges the investigation of Pope Benedict XVI and three other top ranking Vatican officials for abetting and covering up the rape and sexual assault of children by priests. It names five cases specifically from the international arena where these crimes against humanity occurred.
Even if the Court refuses to hear the case on the basis that it does not have jurisdiction, attention will be focused on the big, bad boys at the top of the heap which may be the best the plaintiffs can hope for.
