The Killing Fields

Apparently nothing is more irritating to a serial killer than a copycat who hasn't mastered the art of murdering prostitutes and disposing of their bodies.

Take Joel Rifkin. Oh wait, somebody has, and put him in prison for the rest of his life for murdering 17 hookers back in the 1990's.

Now thanks to beach erosion, sloppy corpse disposal or a combination thereof, the bodies of four people have been discovered on a Long Island, New York beach. Authorities are pretty sure one of them is that of a prostitute who disappeared last May and a couple are so badly decomposed they're not sure if they're male or female.

Rifkin criticized the killer for not doing a better job of dumping the bodies. He killed 17 prostitutes over a four year period and took great pains to scatter their corpses all over the place, not just lumping them together.

His job was easier back in the good old days before Craigslist and the GPS tracking devices in cell phones.

Hey, Joel, if you were really that good you wouldn't have been caught. Ever. Now go back to your cell.
