Butting In

Apparently the way to get smokers to stop smoking is by putting graphic reminders of what inhaling burning tobacco can do to you on packages of cigarettes.

Sure it will.

If paying $10 a pack isn't enough to make a smoker stop, why would pictures of diseased lungs and gums do the trick?

Smokers don't think that they'll ever die from their habit and even if the idea ever did cross their minds, their addiction is far more powerful.

If this gimmick works, I'll eat a pack of cigarettes.
