Pope Benedict XVI is cruising around in his Pope Mobile again. He's made some tourists from Australia very happy by canonizing Mary MacKillop. MacKillop's family emigrated from Scotland to Australia and she went on to become a nun whose order fingered a pedophile priest!Ooooh, the hand of the Lord moves in mysterious ways!
In any event, five others were also canonized, including a Canadian brother.
It seems canonizing folks around the globe is a good way to keep the faithful happy and attributing miracles to the new saints makes them even happier. Absolutely amazing that this still goes on in the twenty-first century.
