Jogging the Memory

This alleged perpetrator was finally captured by the NYPD. His name is Kentrel Whitaker and he is accused of attacking a woman out for an early morning jog along the East River on September 15th. He was nailed by DNA evidence.

What caught my attention about this story was the description of the jogger. Newsmen described her as 'elderly.' My interest was piqued.

It appears his victim was in fact 73 years old.

Seventy-three! Is this something new? Are senior citizens routinely out jogging by the dawn's early light these days?

Was she running pretty fast? Obviously, not fast enough to outrun the aforementioned Mr. Whitaker, but still ... I am thoroughly impressed that an elderly woman was jogging.
