Turtle Bottle Necks

This kid held up an AirTran flight with her little turtle. I'm sure the other passengers were ecstatic.

First of all, I didn't even know there was an airline called AirTran. Maybe it was supposed to be AirTransit but they ran out of paint for the last few letters?

They have some 'rules,' one of which is that animals other than cats, dogs and household birds are barred from being in the cabin. So turtles are out. Personally, I'd prefer to fly with a turtle than a Rottweiler as my seat mate. Apparently turtles can carry salmonella according to the CDC. That's what AirTran claims anyway.

When the flight attendant saw the turtle in its cage, the flight was returned to the gate and the little girl was advised to 'get rid' of the turtle a/k/a throw it away.

What ensued is going to be the plot for a Disney movie so I'll let you wait till it's released. Let's just say that Carley Helm has been reunited with Neytiri and PETA is after AirTran.
