Red Sails in the Sunset

Okay, so I'm wondering what sane parent permits their children, nay - encourages their teen-aged children, to sail around the world. Alone.

Take Abby Sunderland. Please. Rescue her first and then keep her away from her father.

I haven't heard anything about her mother. Does Dad have her bound and gagged in the closet?

The sixteen-year-old Californian left South Africa on May 21st and now, after going missing for a while, she's been spotted by searchers and will be rescued somewhere between Africa and Australia in the Indian Ocean.

Her slightly older brother, Zac, sailed around the world alone last year. Her father thought Abby had even more experience than Zac. "He totally thinks that I'm ready to do it, so that does help," she said at the time.

Kids, does daddy have huge life insurance policies on you guys?
