
It appears that the police in Seattle take jaywalking very, very seriously. So seriously in fact, that they are liable to punch you in the face while trying to issue citations.
That's Officer Ian Walsh pictured above socking a seventeen-year-old girl who pushed him while he was trying to arrest her friend.
An officer can do this if he's been assaulted and the Seattle Officers' Guild is asserting that Officer Walsh was actually trying to calm people down and diffuse the situation.
Okay, I'm no policeman but I don't think punching anyone in the face usually calms things down. And please, jaywalking? It's not like it was an armed robbery arrest.
