Pope on the Ropes

I like to think of myself as irreverent, and since today is my birthday I can think of myself any way I want.

The Papal/Pedophile cover-up stories just keep getting better and better; a special celebratory gift for me.

Today I heard that barristers in the U.K. are debating whether or not the pope could be prosecuted under the principle of universal jurisdiction.

If in fact the Vatican is a state and Pope Benedict XVI is its leader, under international law he could be charged when he becomes a visitor to the U.K. for the systematic cover-up of sexual abuses by priests.

An interesting theory at the very least. I'm going to grab my giant sized container of popcorn, add extra butter, and watch all this as it unfolds.
