As you should know I was really pulling for The Hurt Locker to sweep the Oscars last night and it did! (NTS: Buy lottery ticket.)
Kathryn Bigelow's film, the best she's ever made and the best picture I've seen in many years, won for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Film Editing.
Also very pleased "The Dude" Jeff Bridges got a Best Actor Oscar not just for Crazy Heart but for nearly 40 years of great performances.
That's the funny thing about the Academy Awards -- they give them out not just because of a current film but because so-and-so should have won one years ago.
And congrats to Sandra Bullock too. I loved her in Speed.
