There's a seller on etsy.com who is realizing her dream and fashioning birdhouses and signs. The problem with the signs is that they very often suffer misspellings. Said seller is also from Floydada, Texas, which, by all accounts, is a very poor, uneducated location in addition to having a strange name.
Okay, it seems obvious that a signmaker needs to be able to spell. It's kind of like trying to become a concert pianist while not having any fingers, at least in my mind.
Do we give her snaps for trying or do we criticize her spelling? Can we do both?
I'm all for going after what you want in life as long as it doesn't involve hurting anyone, but I suspect that you have to be equipped to some extent to pursue those dreams.
