Yankee Management, I hope you're listening.
Want to know why Joba Chamberlain won't/can't be a major league pitcher? Because he's too immature. In order to be a star on the MLB stage you need to have a certain amount of maturity. Take Mariano Rivera or Derek Jeter for instance. Their heads rule their emotions.
Joba Chamberlain is a kid with a gift whose mother left him when he was a child. Someone has done him a great disservice by not getting him into counseling or keeping him there if he did get a little therapy. A kid doesn't recover from being abandoned by his/her mother no matter how loving his/her father might be.
You can disagree with me; that's fine. I'm not suggesting you give him a one way ticket back to Nebraska. On the contrary, I'd like him to get the help he needs.
In the meantime, please keep him off the mound especially in the playoffs.
