People waiting to be murdered in RioIt seems like only yesterday that Rio de Janiero won its turkey platter and was rejoicing because they will host the Olympics in 2016. Or maybe it seems like two weeks ago, which it was.
Despite what they told the Olympic Committee, the Brazilian President and the Governor of Rio aren't so sure they can stop the crazy violence in time to make sure that Olympians aren't gunned down and it's seven years away.
Six thousand people are killed in Rio annually, 1,000 of them by police. Things get a little crazy in the slums.
Not only do the Brazilians have the Olympics to worry about, but they're also hosting the World Cup in 2014.
Reasonable estimates are that it will take at least a generation to make any real changes in Rio.
