Tickets to Ride

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, mayor of New York and incredibly rich dude, has hit upon a plan to reduce the number of homeless families in city shelters. He gives them one way plane tickets out of town.

So far it seems to be working since none of the families has come back.

Families have been flown to five continents and 24 states but mostly to the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and Puerto Rico.

It costs the city $36K per family per year to house them. Some day I want to hear details on that.
