
There's been another Staten Island Ferry crash that the powers that be deemed important enough to report.
In this one, no one was killed, but 14 were injured during yesterday's rush hour. You might recall that in October of 2003 eleven people were killed when one of the boats crashed into the dock at full speed.
The miracle is that more ferries don't crash. Does anyone in authority think it a good idea to do random drug and alcohol checks on ferry captains? These guys slam into the piers as a matter of course. That's how they dock the damn things!
And no, you shouldn't be taking your life in your hands just because the ride is free.
