No, songwriter Joseph Brooks was not being arrested in New York today for writing the worst song of all time, "You Light Up My Life," that somehow won him an Academy Award. He was arrested for luring young women to his apartment through Craigslist with promises of a movie role and then raping them.
Not very nice, Mr. Brooks, if indeed that is true.
Four women have come forward to accuse him of drugging and then attacking them in his Manhattan apartment. This, of course, was before he suffered a stroke that has left him looking like Ray Bolger, the scarecrow in the "Wizard of Oz."
